I’m gonna try to update more often, even if just to track my actions. These five weeks off school have been absolutely flying by - three down, two to go.
I spent the first two saying goodbye to one of my closest friends, who just jumped a flight to Southern Cali. I’ve been helping her pack and organize, discussing plans for a new life…the enormity of such a huge life change can never be realized until you’re living the new life, and by that point, looking back just slows down the process of moving forward.
Now, my time has shifted to music. Matt Carter Band has been rehearsing nightly to prepare for recording with local legend Adam Schmitt. We’re making the effort to record as much of the album live. I’m excited to hear the result…recording live makes for a real band effort. I’m accustomed to building albums a track at a time, so good or bad, this will be a memorable experience.
I’m also getting the ball rolling with a new project with Shay, my roommate and former Sangamon bandmate, and Kayla Brown and myself are producing a few tracks for her upcoming solo album. My goal for 2010 is to produce, or perform, on at least four releases. : )
